Mandela Is Forever Free

Nelson Mandela is depicted in a movie poster for an upcoming theatre release on December 25, 2013.
Mr. Mandela has given me great inspiration in my photographic career. I photographed him in 1990, while he was visiting Washington, DC. In this photo, I created a ghost image of people walking by to give it presence. I used a simple point and shoot camera! Have a camera, any camera with you if you want to capture an image.

Hello photogs! I'm posting this photo to demonstrate just how something simple as a pair of shoes can inspire you to take a photograph. A photo can create mystery, just as this one did for me. Banksy Graffiti Photo

Hello photo gang! I photographed this graffiti done by the elusive street artist Banksy. This one is located in Washington, DC. Banksy is in New York City for the month of October to paint in the streets of the Big Apple. Banksy's work is present on streets, walls, and bridges of cities all over the world. Banksy uses a distinctive stenciling technique. Banksy's real name is unknown. Hey photo buddies! I have returned this month with one of my street photos. I love bike riding, and like to photograph bikers on the road. I decided to take this one in black and white. Life Guard Shack

Hey guys! I hope you all got away this summer. I saw this Life Guard Shack on the way to the blue green ocean. The soft yet brilliant colors caught my eye. The camera was ready, and click! Miles the Puppet Performer

Hey folks! I waited for a few weeks to catch Miles' performance in the street. He is not just any puppet, but an accomplished singer. I saw Miles from the bus about five weeks ago, didn't have time to photograph him. This time I got off the bus and spent some time with him and his stage partner. I took this portrait with the lens set at 85mm, shutter speed at 1/10 sec., at f/2.8 and ISO of 400. I used my Fujifilm X10. I love photographing street performers. They make great subjects. Miles had a nice smile and was very friendly.

Scaffolded Monument

Hey, photogs! It's been a while, since I posted last. I'm posting this shot of the Nation's Capital Washington Monument that is under repair due to damage from the 2011 earthquake. It looks really cool to me, like an erector set kit I used to build when I was a kid. A Fujifilm X10 digital camera was used to capture this metal clad monument. The ISO was 100, 1/640 sec. F / 4.0. The camera was set at a focal length of 28mm.
